'28 Weeks Later' Becomes a Streaming Success as '28 Years Later' Dominates Theaters

Sometimes a movie has such a phenomenal opening scene that it sets the bar too high for the rest of the film. That phenomenon is more common within the horror genre, as the gory/supernatural/slasher flicks like to make a big statement in the opening act to hook viewers in. 28 Weeks Later, directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, is a prime example of that phenomenon. Coming off the back of Danny Boyle and Alex Garland's 28 Days Later, expectations and anticipation were already high for the 2007 sequel. While it didn't quite live up to its predecessor, with 28 Years Later now in theaters, the divisive sequel has infected multiple streaming services, and audiences are going rabid for the zombie horror film.
