'A Nightmare on Elm Street' Remake at 10: The Nightmare Horror Fans Can't Forget

As horror movie remakes were becoming all the rage, audiences just had to accept they were going to happen. Even though it was seen as blasphemous to touch some of these classics, the machine was simply too strong and studios felt the need to cash in. The 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre set the tone for the potential success of these films. When that movie became a hit, no horror IP was safe. Excluding the smaller-scale horror reboots, the biggies had already gotten the redo treatment with 2007's Halloween and 2009's Friday the 13th, which meant that A Nightmare on Elm Street wasn't far behind.
