Beyoncé plays Death Grips interlude on ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour

Beyoncé played a Death Grips interlude during the opening night of her ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour.
The singer kicked off her tour for ‘Cowboy Carter’ at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California last night (April 28), celebrating her most recent album of the same name, which dropped last year in March – you can check out the full setlist here.
During the almost three-hour-long set, some fans noticed a snippet of ‘You might think he loves you for your money but I know what he really loves you for…’, the opening track of Death Grips’ 2014 album ‘Government Plates’ used in one of the interludes.
Though it may seem like a random crossover, one user on Twitter/X pointed out that she actually met the experimental hip-hop group in 2013, and posed for a photo with them and Robert Pattinson. Check it out below.

It comes after Death Grips responded to rumours they had broken up earlier this month, following a private message from producer and keyboardist Andy Morin being leaked online in February suggesting the end of the band.
In a statement signed off by vocalist MC Ride – real name Stefan Burnett – and producer and drummer Zach Hill, they confirmed they’re still active, but Morin wasn’t mentioned, leading fans to believe they’ll be continuing as a duo.
As for Beyoncé, elsewhere on the tour’s opening night, she brought out her rarely-seen daughter Rumi during her performance of the song ‘Protector’.

When ‘Cowboy Carter’ first dropped last year, NME gave it five stars, writing: “It’s an undeniable thrill to see her swing so big on a project that dares her to be so intimate and vocal-focused, while making way for country’s up-and-comers too.”
