'Boston Blue' Just Recast a 'Blue Bloods' Character
After the final episode of Blue Bloods aired on CBS, speculation immediately turned to the possibility of a spin-off series and the form it would take. Since family is the core theme of Blue Bloods, and since the lives of the Reagan family characters are seemingly inextricably tied to New York, it seemed inconceivable that a spin-off would depart from this formula. Accordingly, there was genuine surprise when CBS announced the development and production of the first Blue Bloods spin-off series, Boston Blue, in which Donnie Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan is suddenly transported to Boston, within an entirely new police family and political power structure.
