Creeper announce ‘Sanguivore II’ with “sexed up, psychedelic vampire rock fantasy” single, ‘Blood Magick (It’s A Ritual)’

Creeper have announced ‘Sanguivore II’ with “sexed up, psychedelic vampire rock fantasy” new single, ‘Blood Magick (It’s A Ritual)’.
Creeper’s third and most recent full-length effort, 2023’s ‘Sanguivore’ took the Southampton band to new heights and saw them play a massive show at London OVO Wembley Arena.
Now, they’ve announced that the follow-up, ‘Sanguivore II: Mistress of Death’, is set for release on October 31 via Spinefarm, which you can pre-order here.
They’ve so far previewed the album with ‘Headstones’, and have now shared the Harry Steel-directed visuals for ‘Blood Magick (It’s A Ritual)’, which frontman William Von Ghould said was “a blood-soaked, sexed up, psychedelic vampire rock fantasy and easily one of the wildest videos we’ve ever made.”
The new record sees them divert from tradition, and rather than usher in a new era, they’re expanding the previous record’s creative universe.
Calling back to the moral hysteria of the ’80s Satanic Panic, which heavily impacted hard rock and heavy metal musicians including Judas Priest and the late Ozzy Osbourne, a press release promises their newest conceptual offering may be their most theatrical yet.
Speaking about the new record, Ghould pegged the story as “a rock and roll nightmare is coming true,” saying: “A vampire band rampages across 1980s America, leaving only corpses behind. But on the horizon, a shadow stirs.
“Part slasher, part satanic panic nightmare, a new force rises through the mist, ready to hunt the hunter. The Mistress Of Death is a vampire huntress on a path to end this vampire bloodline for good. But can she stake their hearts before the final curtain falls?”
The ‘SANGUIVORE II: MISTRESS OF DEATH’ tracklist is:
‘A Shadow Stirs’
‘Mistress Of Death’
‘Blood Magick (It’s A Ritual)’
‘Headstones’
‘Prey For The Night’
‘Daydreaming In The Dark’
‘Parasite’
‘Razor Wire’
‘From The Depths Below’
‘The Black House’
‘The Crimson Bride’
‘Pavor Nocturnu’
On Saturday (August 9), the band are set to hit the main stage at Bloodstock Festival, and from there, will be supporting Ice Nine Kills on all dates of their UK and European tour alongside The Devil Wears Prada.
The metalcore Boston band will be hitting the road for their ‘A Work Of Art Tour’ this winter, kicking off in Milan on November 19 with dates running through to December 12, when they will conclude their run with their biggest headline UK show to date at London’s OVO Arena Wembley.
