Dario Argento's 'Phenomena' Is Worth Watching Before the TV Remake

A number of notable films are celebrating their 40th anniversaries in 2025. Among them is Phenomena (a.k.a. Creepers), which starred a 15-year-old Jennifer Connelly in one of her first major film roles and was directed by Italian horror maestro Dario Argento. Throughout the 1970s, Argento was celebrated by various critics and audiences for his run of successful Giallo thrillers and his foray into supernatural horror with Suspiria. His success with the thriller was so substantial that some even began to refer to him as a "garlic-flavored Hitchcock." The 1980s would see Argento continue his successes with Giallo in films such as Tenebrae and Opera and further explore the supernatural with Inferno.
