Does ’28 Years Later’ have a post-credits scene?

Over twenty years after Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later, the director is back with a new film in the zombie horror franchise.
28 Years Later, the second sequel to Boyle’s original film after 2007’s 28 Weeks Later, takes the post-apocalyptic horror to a small island off the coast of England, as a father takes his young son to the mainland for the first time.

The sequel reunites Boyle with writer Alex Garland and cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle, who all worked on the original film. Cillian Murphy, who starred in 28 Days Later, returns as an executive producer.
Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Alfie Williams lead the sequel’s cast, alongside Ralph Fiennes, Erin Kellyman, Edvin Ryding, Emma Laird, and Jack O’Connell.
Is there a post-credits scene in 28 Years Later?
There isn’t a post-credits scene, but the credits are spliced with footage recapping the film’s events. If you’re worried about missing out on anything though, there is no Marvel-style secret teaser at the end.
Is a sequel to 28 Years Later happening?

A sequel was shot back-to-back with 28 Years Later, titled 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, which is set to be released on January 16, 2026.
The follow-up is written by Alex Garland and directed by Nia DaCosta (Candyman, The Marvels). It stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Cillian Murphy and Jack O’Connell.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Danny Boyle confirmed a third film is planned if the first two movies are a success, which he would direct.
When asked about DaCosta’s film, Boyle said: “I remember her saying, ‘I’m not going to make a Danny Boyle movie.’ She was absolutely clear about that. And she hasn’t. She’s made her own movie and it’s very strong.
“I think probably because of her experience, she knows what she wants to do now and how she wants to do it, and tells you up front. She’s not going to persuade you to give her the role and then you’re going be disappointed or whatever. She’s going to tell you what she’s going to do. And the actors adored her to the extent that I was slightly jealous that they seemed to prefer her to me. (laughs.)”
