'F1' Review: Brad Pitt Kicks Asphalt in a Thrilling, but Formulaic Action Movie
F1 succeeds in its primary goal of bringing the thrills of elite motorsport racing to the silver screen, as Brad Pitt kicks asphalt in a pedal-to-the-metal summer blockbuster that'll get your adrenaline pumping. Director Joseph Kosinski knows how to shoot epic action and remains at the pinnacle of his game; theaters will literally rumble as the world's fastest Formula One cars thunder around exotic global circuits with stunning cinematography and sharp editing. Unfortunately, however, F1 is also entirely predictable, with one-note characters. If only the talented and gorgeous ensemble had a better screenplay, one that didn't broadcast their every intention.
