Jason Manford reveals hospitalisation and subsequent surgery was cause of gig cancellations

Jason Manford has revealed that a medical emergency and subsequent surgery are the reasons he had to cancel a number of upcoming tour dates.
The comic initially cancelled a Wednesday (July 30) performance of his stand-up show, A Manford All Seasons, in Hertfordshire, moving the date to October.
This was followed up by further posts cancelling three performances taking place over the coming days in Oxford, Lincoln and Skegness. The dates had been moved to late 2025 and early 2026, citing the comedian’s ill health.
On Instagram, Manford posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed, and explained that he suffered from appendicitis while driving on the motorway. “Appendix surgery all went well, now in recovery with my Vimto, they serve it in all Manchester hospitals,” he joked, before adding: “Bit of a scary & extremely painful 24 hours but thankful to our NHS & my incredible nurse mum who’s a godsend in a health crisis! My advice would be to not get Appendicitis whilst driving at 70mph on the motorway!”
Regarding the cancelled dates, he stated: “Seriously though, I’m gutted that I’ve had to move the dates this weekend, and I’m sorry for the late notice to so many people in St Albans, Oxford, Lincoln, Skegness & at Kendall Calling. I thought I could get by on antibiotics and surgery at a later date so I could still do the shows, but was advised not to.”
He then shared that he would be missing a family holiday, and thanked fans for wishing him well. The post has received over 15,000 likes so far, with fellow stand-up John Bishop joking in the comments: “That smock suits you.” The Liverpool comedian was later revealed to be replacing Jason Manford for his Sunday afternoon slot at Kendall Calling.
Last year, Manford talked about another comedian’s show delay, as he revealed what Peter Kay told him after his shows at the Manchester Co-Op were moved due to the venue not being ready.
