October Drift announce split and farewell tour
October Drift have announced their farewell as a band, with a final string of shows to come at the end of 2025.
The indie rock quartet from Taunton, Somerset – made up of Kiran Roy, Daniel Young, Alex Bispham and Chris Holmes – shared the news of the end of the band in an Instagram post at the end of July.
“This is a hard one to write,” they began. “It is with love, joy and hard work we have been fortunate enough to forge the best community, with the very best people we could ever ask to have shared this journey with. Which is why we wanted you all to be the first to know that the time has come to bring October Drift to a close.”
The band have a handful of shows left this summer, and they will bring the curtain down with a final trio of shows later in the year. After shows in Bristol and Manchester at the end of November, they will play their final gig at London’s The Garage on December 2. Find tickets for the shows here.

The band’s statement continued: “We’ve toured our arses off for over a decade and made three timeless albums we are immensely proud of – but this band was never just about music.”
“It was about four best mates from school chasing something we believed in, building a community around that belief, and sharing it with everyone who found something of themselves in our songs. We’ve given everything to this band physically, emotionally and financially, but it’s time to close the curtain on this chapter.”
“We’ll be proudly completing all the festivals we’re grateful to be part of and in the coming days we’ll be announcing a handful of shows towards the end of the year to say farewell and thank you – for the belief, support and love for our band and the racket four friends from Somerset made.”
October Drift released their debut album ‘Forever Whatever’ in 2020, followed by 2022’s ‘I Don’t Belong Anywhere’ and last year’s ‘Blame The Young’.
