Is 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' a Box-Office Success?
The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the latest reboot of the Fantastic Four film series, arrived in theaters two weeks after the Superman reboot, which has presently grossed more than $560 million at the worldwide box office. Just as Superman, the first installment in the DC Universe, has been credited with revitalizing the previously slumping DC brand, there was a strong belief that First Steps would similarly revive the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The franchise has lagged recently with the relatively lackluster box-office performances of Captain America: Brave New World and Thunderbolts*.
