Oliver Stone's 'Platoon' Is Still One of the Best Vietnam War Movies & It's Streaming on Prime Video

When it comes to Hollywood depicting the horrors of war, many filmmakers do all they can to capture the gritty realism and violence of battle, even though they weren't there to see it in person. However, when you have a director that actually served in the military, you get a much different perspective on things that makes their movies hit just a little harder. Such is the case with the 1986 Vietnam War movie Platoon, which was directed by Oliver Stone and is undoubtedly one of the most harrowing war movies ever made.
