The Screamfranchise has spanned six movies, with a seventh installment on the way. With that new film comes the return of Sidney Prescott, the series' ultimate final girl, portrayed by Neve Campbell, following the actress sitting out for the sixth installment after a pay dispute with Spyglass Media Group. In her absence, Melissa Barrera's Sam Carpenter became the focus, something that began when the fifth film was released in 2022. Following a series of behind-the-scenes events that have divided fans, Barrera was let go after the seventh film was announced, and one of the biggest up-and-coming stars of the new series of films, Jenna Ortega, jumped ship. Where is the franchise to go following all of these changes? Well, according to the writer of the seventh installment, Guy Busick, it all had to come back to Sidney Prescott.
