South Park The Streaming Wars

South Park has shared a previously unaired scene of the United States Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, embarking on a shooting spree in a pet store.

It arrives from the latest episode of season 27, which sees Noem and the immigration enforcement agency I.C.E. brutally mocked throughout, with I.C.E. shown raiding heaven in search of immigrants and Noem depicted as repeatedly shooting dogs.

After the episode aired last Thursday (August 7), Noem hit out at the show telling The Glenn Beck Program podcast that although she hadn’t seen the episode mocking her, she thought the cartoon was “petty” and “lazy”.

“I didn’t get to see it. I was going over budget numbers and stuff. But you know, I just think it’s… yeah, it never ends,” she added. “But it’s so lazy to just constantly make fun of women for how they look. Only the liberals and the extremists do that.”

“If they wanted to criticise my job, go ahead and do that, but clearly they can’t – they just pick something petty like that.”

Now, a post-credit scene that wasn’t aired when it went out on Comedy Central which shows Noem entering a pet store and opening fire on the unsuspecting animals inside, has been shared on South Park‘s official X account. “Didn’t see this on TV? Here’s the Paramount+ version of the end credits scene,” it adds.

Noem is yet to respond to the latest clip publicly.

She is the latest of Donald Trump‘s administration to be mocked by the show.

In the opening episode of season 27, the US President was portrayed as being in a sexual relationship with Satan, mirroring a storyline involving Saddam Hussein in the 1998 film South Park: Bigger, Longer, And Uncut. The episode also depicted the politician naked, portraying him with a micro penis.

In response, The White House released a statement attacking the show, saying: “This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention”.

In another episode, I.C.E. – a government organisation who have been conducting aggressive mass deportations under The Trump Administration, were satirised – Teacher Mr Mackey loses his job, and so tentatively becomes an I.C.E. operative, with chaotic results.

Rather than criticising the depiction, the X page of US Homeland Security shared a screenshot of I.C.E. operatives in the show, with a link to a recruitment website. South Park’s official account retweeted the post with the caption “Wait, so we ARE relevant? #eatabagofdicks”, a retort to The White House’s earlier attach on the cartoon.

Creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker made fun of the controversy recently, offering a mock apology when asked about the opening episode at San Diego Comic Con.
