It takes place in a world where metahumans have existed for three centuries, and Superman (David Corenswet) made his existence known three years prior. The movie has already surpassed what Man of Steel earned in its opening weekend back in 2013, likely due to the curiosity about how Gunn would transform the DCU. Not only has Gunn completely transformed the previous Zack Snyder-led DCU in one movie, but he also gave us the most sincere adaptation of Superman since Richard Donner's take on the character in 1978.
