Yungblud shares emotional trailer for ‘ARE YOU READY, BOY?’

Yungblud has shared the raw and emotional trailer for his upcoming documentary Are You Ready, Boy? – watch below.

The film was recorded at the legendary Hansa Studios Building in Berlin (David Bowie recorded ‘Heroes’ in the same room) and it sees director Paul Dugdale (Adele: One Night Only, Elton John: Live From Dodger Stadium) follow the artist as he performs his new album ‘Idols’ live for the very first time.

As well as a one-take performance of each track, the documentary captures the singer during an incredibly pivotal moment in his career, and fans can now get their first glimpse of it in the 30-second trailer below.

It sees Yungblud wrestling with his own confidence and identity. “I feel as though I am sailing uncharted waters,” he says, adding: “I need to figure out who am I as an adult, as a man”.

NME recently spoke with Yungblud – aka Dominic Harrison – about the impetus behind making the film. “With this album, I made a conscious effort to not over explain what it was about,” he said. “This film will really show people what I was going through when I was making it. It’s a hell of a film. I watched it once, approved it, but I’ll never watch it again – It’s too uncomfortable.”

“The opportunity to capture Yungblud at such a turbulent but rewarding moment of change, was an absolute privilege,” Dugdale has said in a statement. “Dom gave himself completely to the filmmaking process and I feel so proud of what we achieved together.”

Yungblud launched fourth album ‘Idols’ by taking over Milton Keynes Bowl for the second annual Bludfest and last month, and he recently stepped in to headline Belgium’s Rock Werchter festival after both Sam Fender and Kings Of Leon pulled out due to illness.

He also made a surprise appearance at Black Sabbath’s final concert at Birmingham’s Villa Park, where he performed a cover of Ozzy Osbourne classic ‘Changes’ backed by a supergroup that included Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme on guitar, II from Sleep Token on drums and Adam Wakeman of Ozzy Osbourne’s band – and son of rock legend Rick – on keys.

He was, however, forced to cancel shows in Liverpool and Dundee last week after contracting tonsilitis – but he did leave money behind the bar in Liverpool for his fans to get together in his absence.

He has a UK and Ireland arena tour set to take place in April 2026, with dates in Dublin, Leeds, Cardiff, Glasgow, Birmingham, London and Manchester. See the full details here and tickets here. He also tours North America and Europe later this year.
