Al Pacino Made a Queer Classic with 'The Exorcist' Director

Al Pacino has made his mark in Hollywood from The Godfather to Scarface and countless other classics. His films have spanned the breadth of genres in Hollywood's arsenal, from mysteries and thrillers to romance and comedy. While many fans and critics alike may understand him to be an actor who has contributed greatly to the genre of mob movies and action flicks, there is another world in which he has made a significant contribution. Protested widely in it’s day, edited heavily before release, and still incredibly controversial, the 1980 crime drama Cruising has cemented Pacino’s spot in queer cinematic history.
