‘Call Of Duty’ announces stoner-inspired ‘Blaze Of Glory’ event

Call Of Duty has revealed more details about the upcoming stoner-inspired Blaze Of Glory event.
As part of the Season Three Reloaded update that’s set to go live this Thursday (May 1) at 5pm BST, Black Ops 6’s Nuketown map is set to receive a stoner-inspired makeover, with players able to battle it out in Blazetown for a limited time.,
It comes after Jay and Silent Bob were added to Black Ops 6 earlier this month via their own Tracer Pack. Their Bluntman and Chronic alter-egos are also now playable in the game.
Yesterday, Activision shared a new teaser for the event featuring actors Kevin Smith (Silent Bob) and Jason Mewes (Bob) that gave players their first proper look at the reworked map. Check it out below.

Fans are also expecting more weed-inspired items to be added to the game as part of the Reloaded update after a bong gun was added to Black Ops 6 at the end of last year.
However the Blaze Of Glory event is already causing a divide between fans. Some are annoyed the event is coming after April 20 (AKA 4/20) but that’s likely a result of Season Three being delayed so developers could perfect the return of Verdansk in Warzone. Others are frustrated Activision are promoting drug culture while still penalising multiplayer users for swearing.
“The obsession Activision has with promoting smoking pot needs to be studied,” one fan wrote on X. “Again, promoting drug use in children, but I can’t call a dude a pussy without getting chat banned,” added another.
Meanwhile, other gamers are happy Black Ops 6 is finally getting more “era-appropriate” skins. The game is set in the early ‘90s and prior to Jay and Silent Bob, released Terminator and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle-inspired skins. Before that though, Black Ops 6 hosted a crossover with Squid Game and received backlash for the number of giant animal outfits that were available to purchase.
Earlier this week, the United State’s Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has revealed that one Call Of Duty fan tried to take a replica Monkey Bomb onto a plane. ”This monkey may rack up points in a game, but in real life, leave the gear for your loadout screen, not your baggage,” they wrote on social media.
In other news, noisy “meme-along” screenings of A Minecraft Movie are set to take place in UK cinemas this weekend.
