Does ‘Superman’ have a post-credit scene?

James Gunn’s Superman is out now, but does the movie have a post credits scene? Read on to find out.
The latest big screen reboot of the iconic DC Comics character arrives in cinemas around the world on Friday (July 11), with Twisters and House Of Cards actor David Corenswet stepping into the title role.
Superman is intended to be the first film in the new DC Universe and has been written and directed by Guardians Of The Galaxy’s James Gunn. Rachel Brosnahan stars as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult plays Lex Luthor, with the film telling the story of Superman’s attempts to reconcile his heritage with his new human family.
It has been met with an initially positive response, with early reactions calling it “exceptional” and “an awesome achievement”.
In a three-star review, NME wrote: “To give Gunn his due, he crafts a world that’s as close to the DC Comics Superman that we’ve ever seen, with characters like the shapeshifting Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan) adding real texture. It’s a promising start-point to his plans for the DC Universe.”
“And while the good-versus-evil plot does little to push the envelope, the idea of Superman being an alien peacekeeper is surely going to stir up political controversies back in Gunn’s MAGA-homeland. Mainly, though, just give us more Krypto – this canine really is super.”
Does Superman have a post-credit scene?
Yes, Superman has both a mid-credits scene and a post-credits scene.
The brief mid-credits scene sees a moment of serenity after the mayhem of the final act, with Corenswet’s Superman getting a big hug from his pet dog Krypto while they sit on the moon together overlooking the Earth.
The post-credits scene takes place in Metropolis after the seismic events of the end of the film. Superman stands observing the ruins of some buildings he is familiar with, alongside Mister Terrific. One, he notices, has a huge crack running through it due to the climactic battle scene, and he jokes that the building is a little crooked, causing the humourless Mister Terrific to storm off in disgust. “What do you want me to do? Do you want me to take it apart and put it back together?” he complains as he walks away.
“Darn it, I can be such a jerk sometimes,” Superman mutters under his breath as the screen turns to black.
