Glastonbury 2025: Paul McCartney is here – and he went to watch Inhaler

Paul McCartney is on site at Glastonbury 2025, and he even caught Inhaler‘s set.

The Beatles legend was spotted at the side of stage during Inhaler’s performance on The Other Stage earlier today (June 27).

It came amid a series of technical difficulties for the Irish rock band, with the sound reportedly cutting in and out while they played ‘A Question For You’.

Later in the set, frontman Elijah Hewson dedicated ‘It Won’t Always Be Like This’ to “the people of Palestine”, and “to any innocent people being starved or bombed, or genocide for the sake of some lunatics.”

Hewson, whose father is U2 frontman Bono, continued: “I feel like we have to say that because our greatest strength is freedom of expression, and there’s no better place for it than right here at Glastonbury. So, be kind to each other, and have a great time.”

See that moment, and McCartney’s brief cameo, below.

McCartney himself headlined Glastonbury back in 2022, with his set receiving a glowing five-star review from NME. “Bowing out after a [Dave] Grohl and [Bruce] Springsteen-assisted ‘Abbey Road’ medley, the 80-year-old goes over his billed time by a good 30 mins, having thrown absolutely everything he has – which is saying something for an actual Beatle – at Glastonbury 2022, sounding like a man who, frankly, knows he might not do this again,” it read.

It continued: “Macca was preceded on the line-up by Noel Gallagher, who famously told the audience at Oasis’ seminal Knebworth Park show in 1996: “This is history.” So was this.

As for Inhaler, back in 2019, the band spoke to NME about what it was like to be continuously tied to U2. “People always ask: do you get really good advice from your dad about music and songwriting, and the honest truth is… no,” Elijah told us. “Yeah, they’re a really successful band, but I have completely different opinions on songwriting to him.

“It drives us to prove ourselves. I think it drives us to want to actually perform better, and prove ourselves, playing in the toilets and doing all of these mad tours. It drives us to be better. If we were shite, you wouldn’t bother talking to us.”

Bono has also recently opened up about his relationship with his son, saying he’s “not bothered” about his father being a famous rockstar.

In a four-star review of their most recent album ‘Open Wide’, Ali Shutler wrote for NME: “Throughout ‘Open Wide’, Inhaler display a powerful confidence that’s impossible to resist. Comforting, cathartic and heaps of fun, it’s the sort of record that sounds brilliant on headphones but will really come to life, say, as the sun sets on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage.”
