Harrison Ford Says He Was Once Told He "Had No Future in the Business"

Harrison Ford, the star of franchises like Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Blade Runner, appeared on the screen for the first time in the 1966 film Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round. However, Ford only had a couple of lines of dialogue and was uncredited in the film starring James Coburn. Little did everyone know that, approximately ten years later, he would be portraying one of the most well-known characters in cinema history in Star Wars. It was a short role that Ford calls "the first thing I ever said for money," and the introduction to an anecdote involving an executive who once told him that he "had no future in the business."
