James Gunn's 'Peacemaker' Returns To Streaming Charts Ahead of Season 2
While Superman may very well be James Gunn's most successful DC Studios project to date, it wasn't the first. Following his unexpected departure from Marvel Studios (and his rehire shortly afterward), the director would find work at Warner Bros. and DC, where he would write and direct the 2021 film The Suicide Squad. Featuring an assortment of relatively unknown villains, the one that quickly stole the show was John Cena's Christopher Smith, AKA Peacemaker. Gunn would become so invested in the character that he would receive his own spin-off show, Peacemaker, which was released in January 2022. Now, the series is regaining popularity ahead of the Season 2 premiere this August.
