Blink-182‘s Mark Hoppus has shared the song ‘Totally Awesome’, the theme song for the new Disney Jr. series, Marvel’s Iron Man And His Awesome Friends – check it out below.

The upbeat song finds Hoppus introducing the shows’ three protagonists – the titular Iron Man, plus the characters Iron Heart and Iron Hulk – while singing about the power of friendship: “It’s totally awesome when I’m with my best friends / It’s better than chocolate, it’s better than weekends.”

According to a press release, via Kerrang!, the upcoming Marvel series will follow the adventures of “best friends and super geniuses […] as they work together to solve problems both big and small and protect their city. In order to help them save the day, the Iron Friends each have their own Iron Suits that allow them to fly and give them enhanced super-strength.”

The main cast will be voiced by Mason Blomberg, Kapri Ladd and Aidyn Ahn. They will be joined by Veep actor Tony Hale, Saturday Night Live alum Vanessa Bayer and Talon Warburton, son of Less than Perfect actor Patrick Warburton.

Marvel’s Iron Man And His Awesome Friends arrives on Disney Jr. on August 11, and will be able to stream on Disney+ the following day. Check out Hoppus’ ‘Totally Awesome’ below:

Hoppus is the second punk-pop hitmaker in recent years to work on a theme song for an animated Marvel series. Back in 2021, Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy crafted the theme song for fellow Disney Jr. series Marvel’s Spidey And His Amazing Friends.

The Blink-182 member recently spoke to NME about their past rivalry with fellow punk-pop band Green Day. Touching on the strange competitiveness that the two bands felt towards each other during their co-headline Pop Disaster Tour in the summer of 2002, Hoppus said: “That was very strange because I grew up listening to Green Day. I literally waited for the day that ‘Dookie’ [1994] came out, and I was in line waiting to buy it.”

Earlier this year, Hoppus also revealed that The Cure‘s Robert Smith once tried to “make out” with him, which apparently took place after Smith shared the stage with the pop punk trio at a Wembley Arena concert in 2004. “I’ve seen him several times since, and it’s been totally cool and nobody’s talked about it,” he said.
