Lucy Dacus shares surprise dual singles ‘Bus Back To Richmond’ and ‘More Than Friends’
Lucy Dacus has treated fans to two surprise new songs – listen to ‘Bus Back To Richmond’ and ‘More Than Friends’ below.
The singer-songwriter released her fourth studio album ‘Forever Is A Feeling’ in March this year, which included singles such as ‘Best Guess’, ‘Ankles’ and the Hozier-featuring ‘Bullseye’.
Now, she has released two more non-album tracks from the same recording sessions, in the form of ‘Bus Back To Richmond’ and ‘More Than Friends’. They will be available on limited edition 7” vinyl and you can order yours here.
‘Bus Back To Richmond’ is a contemplative, lyrical reflection of a New Year’s Eve gone wrong, while ‘More Than Friends’ recounts fleeting moments from a personal relationship, both based around tender, acoustic arrangements.

Dacus has also officially updated the album art for ‘Forever Is A Feeling’ to a Will St. John painting photographed in medium format by Jon Henry. She wrote on Instagram that this was “my original idea” for the cover. “I’m changing the album art to this because…I want to and I can!” she wrote.
The Boygenius singer is also currently on the road as part of her ‘Forever Is A Feeling’ tour of North America. At the shows, she is using her ordained status to officially marry volunteer couples from the crowd – find out more here.
She also joined The Killers at Osheaga Festival in Montreal earlier this month for a rendition of ‘Read My Mind’.

In a four-star review of ‘Forever Is A Feeling’, NME wrote: “Though it exudes plenty of joy along the way, ‘Forever Is A Feeling’ doesn’t shy away from the more daunting aspects of being totally obsessed with somebody; “This is bliss, this is hell,” Dacus sings on the title track. “Forever is a feeling, and I know it well.” Though longing and mortality have long been recurring themes in Dacus’ music, the stakes feel even higher – and even more gripping – when there’s so much to lose.”
It was later named as one of NME’s best albums of 2025 so far.
