'Mad Max' Star's 62% Rotten Tomatoes Rated Action Thriller 'The Gorge' Is a Hit on Streaming
The Mad Max franchise is one of the most beloved action series around. The Mel Gibson-led originals are some of the defining movies in the post-apocalyptic genre, and George Miller's 2015 revamp, Mad Max: Fury Road, forever changed the action landscape. Miller returned to the franchise in 2024 with the release of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. The film swapped Charlize Theron for Anya Taylor-Joy, who portrayed a younger version of the Imperator Furiosa. The film helped to cement Taylor-Joy as an action star, which she followed with a co-leading role in one of Apple TV+'s biggest and most divisive action thrillers to date. That film was already a major hit when it was released on the streaming platform earlier this year, and it's finding renewed success this summer.
