NBC Fall Schedule Confirms Renewals of Two Bubble Dramas, and Significant Changes

NBC is the second broadcast network to confirm its plans for the 2025-2026 TV season, and there are some big changes.

We’ll start with the good news.

The network has confirmed renewals for freshman dramas Brilliant Minds and The Hunting Party.

After NBC canceled Night Court, Found, Lopez Vs Lopez, The Irrational, and Suits LA, there was no indication whether any more shows would be in contention for a pickup.

The Hunting Party Has Been Renewed and Will Be On the NBC Fall Schedule

Complicating matters is that the network is focusing on more sporting content next season, which naturally means there will be fewer scripted offerings.

Overall, Brilliant Minds and The Hunting Party performed well compared to some of the network’s canceled shows, and execs believed there was an opportunity to keep the duo alive for another year.

Even better for fans?

NBC won’t be swapping them out at midseason.

Instead, both shows are getting full-season orders, which means executives believe they will grow or at least perform well enough to warrant it.

Brilliant Minds is retaining its post-The Voice Mondays at 10 p.m. slot, meaning The Hunting Party is being moved to Thursdays at 10 p.m., replacing the canceled Found.

The decision isn’t surprising because NBC wants them both to have some support from stronger lead-ins.

But still, it’s a bitter pill for fans of Found, which had a splashy debut last season but faltered due to a timeslot shake-up this season.

NBC is Shaking Things Up

NBC will schedule football on Sundays in the fall, which will also reduce schedule real estate for many shows.

Mondays in September will feature The Voice and Brilliant Minds, but by November, the singing competition will be forced to scale back to one hour.

It will also be vacating Tuesdays after a few weeks due to the addition of NBA programming.

Wednesdays remain unchanged, with Chicago Med, Fire, and P.D. staying put.

The only change on Thursdays is The Hunting Party keeping the night alive in the 10 pm hour out of the Law & Order duo.

Fridays will start with all unscripted programming, but Happy’s Place joins in the fun beginning in November.
