Netflix's 'Devil May Cry' Gets "Different" Season 2 Update
Usually, it takes weeks to a few months for a series to be renewed. That wasn't the case for Netflix's Devil May Cry, created by film producer, screenwriter, and director Adi Shankar and animated by South Korean Studio Mir. Just one week after its release on April 3, 2025, the animated fantasy action series was renewed for a sophomore season. With only eight episodes, Devil May Cry holds an approval rating of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, with Collider's Aidan Kelley calling it "one of the best new animated shows of 2025." Praise this high might be nerve-wracking for most creators, with the pressure of keeping it up for the next season. However, Adi Shankar used the debut season as a "gateway drug" and said the next will be "different."
