One of the Best Horror Remakes of the Last 20 Years Possesses a New Streaming Home
Horror remakes are plentiful, but few are celebrated — especially those based on classics beloved by fans who regard the originals as some of the best ever made. Fede Álvarez's outstanding remake of Sam Raimi's seminal film The Evil Dead is an exception, due in part to the way the director managed to take the original concept and rehash it using a new narrative style. Out were low production values and comedy; in were gallons of fake blood, insane violence, and full-blown scares. 2013's Evil Dead is an impressive remake, and this August you'll find it on a new streaming service.
