The singer was one of the first to pay tribute to the late Black Sabbath frontman when he passed away at the age of 76 last month. “Bye bye Ozzy,” he wrote. “Sleep well, my friend. I’ll see you up there – later rather than sooner.”
At the gigs on his current ‘One Last Time’ tour in the US, Stewart has also been dedicating his 1988 song ‘Forever Young’ to Osbourne each night. At Friday’s show (August 1) at the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre near Atlanta, however, footage was captured of an altogether more bizarre tribute.
A sequence of AI-generated images of Osbourne taking selfies with a raft of legendary musicians was projected onto the screen behind him, with the likes of Prince, Tina Turner, Bob Marley, Freddie Mercury, Kurt Cobain, George Michael, Amy Winehouse and XXXTentacion all making appearances.

Osbourne was laid to rest in the grounds of his UK mansion at a private ceremony last week, with Elton John and members of Metallica in attendance.
Thousands also took to the streets of Birmingham to leave flowers and emotional tributes to the music icon, with thousands of others lining the streets for the funeral procession.
Zak Starkey, Adam Sandler, Ghost’s Tobias Forge, Alice Cooper, Elton John, Yungblud, Billie Joe Armstrong, Jack White, Coldplay, Gojira and Jake E Lee are among the countless names who shared tributes to Ozzy after hearing about his passing.
Fans have also come together to call for both Birmingham Airport and a stage at Download Festival to be renamed after the late singer. A Change.org petition for the former got over 5,000 signees in less than two days, and currently stands at over 57,000 signatures.
Stewart, meanwhile, played the legends slot at Glastonbury 2025, being joined by Mick Hucknall, Lulu and Ronnie Wood. NME awarded the set four stars, concluding: “It may be the staggering heat or a stronger Sunday hangover this year, but the crowd aren’t quite as raucous as they often are for the legends slot, despite the many resplendent in copycat wigs and spandex. Still, the man’s voice is on point and he knows how to charm while giving you bang for your buck.”
