It was clear from the movie’s performance over the weekend that Superman is a winning first step for James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU, but while there has been a lot of focus on David Corenswet being hailed as “a Superman for our times,” it seems that there is another actor who has built up quite a lot of praise on back of his debut in the film. That would be Nicholas Hoult in the role of the villainous Lex Luthor.
