'Superman' Star Reveals the Surprising Struggle of Playing the Man of Steel in the DCU
Superman soars into theaters on July 11, finally bringing the rebooted DCU to the big screen. Along with a smattering of popular and underappreciated DC Comics characters, the film also includes a classic Man of Steel design choice: the iconic red trunks. David Corenswet plays Clark Kent/Superman in the film, and, as phenomenal as he appears in the trailers and marketing material, the actor said it was a unique challenge to portray the beloved superhero. Actors often complain about the difficulty of intense and emotionally demanding roles, but David Corenswet had the opposite problem when playing Superman in the DCU.
