'The Social Network' Sequel Officially Announced With Aaron Sorkin at the Helm
Aaron Sorkinhas been on the cusp of a long-awaited sequel to the 2010 Sony Pictures Oscar-winning hit The Social Networkfor years. The film that won the screenwriter an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay came at another tumultuous time in social media's history. Yet, the original film focused heavily on the personal life of Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg, played by Jesse Eisenberg, and not so much on the social implications of what Zuckerberg had created. With Facebook under constant fire for misinformation and Zuckerberg now owning Instagram and Threads, Sorkin has officially arrived at the perfect context for a follow-up film to his masterpiece.
