'Until Dawn' Review: A Gory but Not Good Adaptation

PlayStation's hit video game Until Dawn gets a loose adaptation that will have you laughing out loud for all the wrong reasons. The gruesome horror flick doubles down on tired genre tropes as the requisite group of hapless Gen Z mincemeat basically chuck themselves in the grinder. It's a rinse and repeat slaughter as the plot mirrors Happy Death Day, where the characters are forced to relive the carnage until they escape — or risk transforming into zombie killers. The time loop shenanigans get old pretty fast until a labored final act that broadcasts its obvious resolution.
