For the better part of the last decade, Hollywood has doubled down on focusing on the female demographic. According to a recent industry report, that could all be changing. Sources within Walt Disney Studios say that Bob Iger is desperate to attract male viewers again as Disney's brand power wanes and many MCU and Star Wars fans lose interest.In simple terms, the plan to expand the fandom for Star Wars and Marvel has not panned out. Just six years ago, Fortune reported that the industry was shifting toward more female representation on screen and predicted that fewer films would be produced overall.
