Adam Sandler looks back at Ozzy Osbourne’s “badass” cameo in ‘Little Nicky’

Adam Sandler has paid his respects to the late Ozzy Osbourne by looking back at the rock icon’s cameo in Little Nicky.
The post follows news that the heavy metal godfather and iconic Black Sabbath frontman died yesterday (July 22). In a statement, Osbourne’s family shared that the 76-year-old music legend was “surrounded by love” at the time of his passing.
Huge names have paid tribute, including Ghost’s Tobias Forge, Alice Cooper, Elton John, Yungblud, Billie Joe Armstrong, Jack White, Coldplay, and Gojira. Touching messages have also been shared by his Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler.
Now, Adam Sandler has joined the list of those sharing their respects to the Prince Of Darkness – posting an update that looked back at their time working on one of his films.
“Whether we were in our basements with our brothers, in the woods with our buddies, in the car, at a keg party, on a boat, at football practice, at a sleepover….Nobody was more badass to crank up on our speakers than the one and only prince of darkness – Ozzy Osbourne,” Sandler wrote on X/Twitter.
“Loved him a lot like we all did! Sending love to the family and so happy to have spent time with the legend himself.”

The mention of their time working together refers to when the ‘Paranoid’ singer had a cameo in Sandler’s 2000 film, Little Nicky – a comedy that centred on one of Satan’s sons.
In his appearance, Osbourne appeared at the end of the film and helped Nicky (Sandler) defeat one of his enemies, who appeared disguised as a bat. He did this by biting its head off; making a nod to the infamous story of him biting the head off a real bat while on stage in 1982.
Little Nicky also featured two of Osbourne’s songs in the soundtrack: ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ and ‘No More Tears’, which both featured in his sixth solo album ‘No More Tears’.
Ozzy’s death comes after he played his final live show in Birmingham earlier this month. Dubbed ‘Back To The Beginning’, the gig was held in the band’s hometown on July 5, and marked Ozzy’s last performance both as a solo artist and with Black Sabbath.
It also saw him raise just under “a ton of money” for charity, and featured performances from Guns N’ Roses, KoRn, Tool, Slayer, Pantera, Metallica, Alice In Chains, Gojira, Anthrax, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and many more.
The farewell show is set to be turned into a concert film and shown in cinemas next year, along with behind-the-scenes footage and backstage interviews. Osbourne‘s final memoir, Last Rites, is also set to be posthumously released later this year.
