What is behind these issues, and are there any fixes you can implement immediately, or do you need to wait for a full patch? Here is a breakdown of what we know.
Unfortunately, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers‘ stuttering and performance issues are caused by the game itself, and there isn’t much you can do to fix it, beyond lowering your graphics options. An emergency patch has been released one day after launch to fix some of the key issues.
The patch notes detail VRAM optimisation for lower-end GPUs, as well as overall memory optimisation to avoid stuttering as you traverse and explore. Some crashes have also been fixed, alongside a complete rebalancing of the landmines in Chapter 2, which were causing significant problems for players.
Additionally, the standard and deluxe edition rewards will now be awarded properly to players with each edition. Although, this will require you to log in again and claim the rewards from the Reverent Temple.
According to the team, a more extensive patch will be released in the coming days that will aim to fix more serious issues and additional problems players are running into.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is out now and available on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. Fingers crossed the game receives some significant patches soon to address these issues on PC, as well as across all platforms. The game is currently sitting at a 75 on Metacritic, although that is made up of a wide range of scores from extremely positive to negative ones.
