The Bear season 4

Fans have been responding positively to the new season of The Bear, singling out an episode written by Ayo Edebiri singled out as a highlight.

The fourth season of the drama sees the staff at The Bear reeling from a bad review, and in financial difficulty. With a clock counting down until they have to close for good, head chef Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) must work through his own demons to lead his staff through this crucial time.

The show looked to regain some momentum after season three received mixed reviews, but many fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their appreciation for the new chapter.
“Perfect pick-up from a not so appealing season three” one wrote. “I remember why I loved this show once again. Hopefully they can all get past their issues and trauma”.

Another concurred: “I was really checked out after Season Three but The Bear Season Four is actually good. I’m so glad that they cut down on the anxiousness (not of the characters but of their way of story telling). A couple of episodes stood out as being Emmy worthy. Good to have the show back on track”.

One episode that was particularly praised was episode four, Worms, where chef Sydney (Ayo Edibiri) contemplates her future at The Bear while caring for a friend’s 12-year-old daughter. Edibiri co-wrote the episode and fans were calling it the standout of the season.

“The Bear Season four episode four is some of the best television I’ve ever consumed. 10’s across the board” wrote one user, with another saying: “Ayo that Emmy is already yours i can see the future”.

Another highlight was episode 7, set at the wedding of Ritchie’s (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) ex Tiff (Gillian Jacobs). “The table scene, The Bear season 4 episode 7, you are a masterpiece” enthused one fan.

The show brought in a number of guest stars for this season, with big Hollywood names taking on the roles of characters who, to this point, had only been talked about. “I can’t help but applaud #TheBear for its ability to keep its guest stars under wraps. I never have any clue” a viewer posted.

Still, some older characters loom large, with Carmy’s grief for his late brother Mikey (Jon Bernthal) still heavy on his heart. “Carmy still texting Mikey broke me” wrote a fan, referencing an ongoing plot point in the show.

The Bear season four is available for UK viewers now on Disney+. Jeremy Allen White will be seen playing Bruce Springsteen later in the year in biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere. Recently, fans have called his covers of The Boss’ songs so good they’re convinced they’re fake.
