Is Robbie Williams teasing secret Glastonbury 2025 set? Blue plaque marks 30 years after partying with Oasis

Fans believe Robbie Williams may be teasing a Glastonbury 2025 appearance this weekend, after erecting a blue plaque marking 30 years since he made headlines for partying with Oasis at the festival following his departure from Take That.
The singer, who went on to headline the Worthy Farm festival himself in 1998, took to Instagram this morning (June 27) to share an image of a blue plaque on the Glastonbury sign in the hospitality area to mark it as a landmark.
It reads: “Robbie Williams entered this area without accreditation, authorisation, or alignment with prevailing taste. His presence was uninvited, unofficial and ultimately inevitable.”
He then wrote in the caption, “30 years later…” and then shared a photo of a sign reading, “Welcome to Glastonbury.”
Fans and followers reacted with excitement in the comments, with one saying he should be headlining, another writing, “If it already being Friday wasn’t enough to pop a smile on your face… we get this!! How exciting,” and one more saying, “No no no please don’t be the secret act…I normally try for tickets and didn’t this year.”
A photo of Williams at the festival in ’95 in his iconic red tracksuit also marks the cover of his upcoming album, ‘Britpop‘.
Another alluded to Lewis Capaldi’s assumed secret set later today, writing: “King Capaldi … now you!!! (That’s if you’re teasing an appearance?)”
It’s not the first hint that Williams – who’s on tour at the moment, bringing the likes of Self Esteem, Lethal Bizzle and Wiley, and Five out on stage – has dropped regarding the festival in recent years. He said on the Robbie Williams Rewind podcast in 2023 that he would “slaughter” another Glastonbury performance, explaining: “It’s one of those times and places, and a reimagination of what Robbie Williams is. When you do Glastonbury, perception changes more than any other festival.
He discussed his attendance at the 1995 festival on Instagram last month, too, writing: “It’s very difficult to describe the musical landscape of the time. Coolness had a militancy. Indie had a militancy,” and contrasting: “I was in a boy band.”
In October 2022, Williams said of his time partying with Oasis at the festival: “I set off with [a] flute full of champagne and a pocket full of cocaine, ready to get insane in the membrane and I went to Glastonbury to begin what I didn’t know was to be the start of my new life. When I was there, I hung out with this lot…”
Speaking to NME a month prior, he described his appearance as making him feel like “Putin turning up in Westminster”.
