'Peacemaker' Season 2 Pulled Off That Retcon With Style
Peacemaker pulled off a perfect retcon, and what made it perfect was the simplicity of it. Peacemaker Season 2 debuted on HBO Max on August 22, 2025, over three years after Season 1 concluded. One of the biggest questions going into the new season concerned how James Gunn would fold the series, previously an entry of the previous DCEU, into his now-established DCU and make it easy to understand for casual audience members and hardcore fans. Gunn previously teased that there would be an explanation for the Justice League tease at the end of Peacemaker Season 1, leading to plenty of speculation about how James Gunn would tackle such a decision.
