After seven years of being in development, the sophomore feature by filmmaker Hikari is finally set to be released in theaters this year. Rental Family is a comedy drama that has been in the works for some time, with the Japanese filmmaker recruiting Brendan Fraser for the project shortly after his Oscar win for Darren Aronofsky's The Whale in 2023. Fraser was reportedly very careful when choosing his next role following the success of The Whale, eventually settling on Rental Family. Now, the first trailer for the upcoming movie has been released, teasing a heartwarming story featuring Fraser in what looks to be one of his most charming roles yet.
