'Superman's Final Act Is Strangely Similar to 'The LEGO Batman Movie'
While James Gunn's first movie in the new DCU may be visually distinct from previous iterations of the iconic character, it's the structure of the third act of Superman that bears a striking resemblance to an often-overlooked DC movie. While Man of Steel featured a global conflict in which General Zod (Michael Shannon) attempts to terraform Earth into a new Krypton, Superman has Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor splitting Metropolis in half with his "pocket universe" to draw Superman (David Corenswet) out into the open so that he can attempt to kill him.
