'Twisted Metal' Season 2 Review: Bigger, Bloodier and Funnier Than Ever

Twisted Metal revs up the humor, carnage and demolition-derby action in a banger second season that's loaded with big reveals. Fans of the classic video games will be thrilled to see Anthony Carrigan in all of his maniacal and magical glory as series villain Calypso. The Twisted Metal tournament is the central focus, with new kooky and murderous contestants joining the fantastic ensemble from season one (those that survived, anyway.) Two additional episodes bring the season count to 12, and add significantly more depth to the narrative as each character gets their moment to shine in multiple subplots. Season two admittedly runs a little long with the extra exposition, but never gets dull as the body count fills up the morgue.
