We Need Brainiac in a Live-Action 'Superman' Movie
This week marked the release of Superman, one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2025, and the beginning of James Gunn's ambitious DCU plans. This is the eighth live-action theatrical Superman movie since 1978's Superman: The Movie kicked off the contemporary superhero movie era, excluding his appearance in Justice League. For the most part, the Superman films have primarily featured the same villains, such as Lex Luthor and General Zod, with Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice introducing a new adversary in Doomsday. Yet next to Lex Luthor, Superman's most iconic foe has not graced the silver screen: Brainiac.
