'Cheech and Chong's Last Movie' Review: Surprisingly Sobering

"Humor can be dissected, as a frog can, but the thing dies in the process," as E.B. White and his wife Katharine mused in 1941. As such, a documentary about comedy isn't naturally entertaining, and considering the trauma which often serves as the catalyst for artistic expression, biographeis of comedians aren't exactly funny. Cheech & Chong's Last Movie, a documentary hybrid about the famed countercultural comedy duo, dances around those innate obstacles to become a vibrant cinematic journey. It's a road trip film, both literally and figuratively, and you'll want to stick out your thumb to catch this ride.
