Ted Kaczynski may be one of the most polarizing figures in modern American history. This math genius secluded himself in the wilderness to become obsessed with creating his manifesto and battling the growing threats he felt technology posed to Americans. Ted Kaczynski is, first and foremost, a terrorist who killed people, and his apprehension and imprisonment were a necessity. Yet, his words still resonate with many to this day, both among other extremists, such as Luigi Mangione, who read Kaczynski's Industrial Society and Its Future and wrote about it on Goodreads (among other books), and among those who are adverse to technology and its role in degrading certain aspects of society.
