'Freakier Friday' Team Wanted Sequel to Fix "Hurtful" Asian Stereotypes

The team behind Freakier Friday, the sequel to Disney's 2003 comedy Freaky Friday starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, have promised that the upcoming movie will correct the most "problematic" part of the original. The follow-up comes more than two decades after the first film, and while the sequel aims to retain many elements that made the body-swapping film so popular, Freakier Friday director Nisha Ganatra has admitted that she had the "complicated" task of reassessing the first film and making some necessary changes.
