It’s been a frustrating few years for Grand Theft Auto fans. The long-awaited follow-up to 2013’s GTA 5 was officially confirmed at the end of 2023 via a short teaser trailer but no new information was shared until last week, when the game was delayed from 2025 and given a new release date of May 26, 2026.
Fans were understandably annoyed about the pushback but yesterday (May 6), Rockstar surprise-released the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, with the impressive cinematic clip soundtracked by The Pointer Sisters’ iconic ‘Hot Together’.
As well as the new trailer, Rockstar updated the official Grand Theft Auto 6 website to include information about dual protagonists Jason Duvall and Lucia Camino, as well as bios for a number of supporting characters including conspiracy theorist Cal Hampton and rap duo Real Dimez.
Rockstar has dropped quite literally a TON of screenshots for GTA 6 alongside the new trailer, and the game looks INCREDIBLE.

The website also confirms the six main map locations that players will be able to explore in Grand Theft Auto 6: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, Grassrivers and Mount Kalaga.
More than 70 screenshots from the game have also been shared online alongside more details about GTA 6’s campaign story. “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”

Responding to the huge information dump, one fan wrote: “The whole game looks good in general. 70 screenshots, loads of information about the characters, the cities, it’s amazing. I’m really satisfied.”
“That’s one way to break the 500 days of silence,” said one fan. “So much valuable information. So hype,” added a second. “The other day, people were upset (myself included) that Rockstar only gave a statement about the delay and didn’t release anything with it. Now it seems like they gave us more than we were asking for,” wrote another.
Announcing the delay, Rockstar wrote: “The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team. With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations, and GTA 6 is no exception. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve.”
In other news, a new rumour suggests 28 Days Later’s Alex Garland will be directing a movie adaptation of Elden Ring – but fans aren’t convinced.
