How James Gunn Missed Out on Directing 'Thunderbolts*'

James Gunn has little to lose sleep over nowadays (unless his upcoming DC movies flop). Once a pariah following a scandal on Twitter, he now sits comfortably at the helm of DC Studios. Looking around, one can conclude that there was never a better captain to take charge of this shaky ship. DC had struggled ever since Christopher Nolan made The Dark Knight Rises. There were signs of resuscitation when Wonder Woman and Joker were made, but Warner Bros. just didn’t know how to ensure this success continued.
