James Gunn Says 'Sgt. Rock' Is Still "Moving Forward" at DC Studios
James Gunn has clarified the status of Sgt. Rock, revealing that the in-development DCU movie may still happen. Despite not being part of the original Chapter 1 - Gods and Monsters announcement in January 2023, Sgt. Rock quickly picked up steam at Warner Bros. when director Luca Guadagnino and writer Justin Kuritzkes, hot off Challengers, were hired to direct and pen the script for the movie, respectively. Despite Colin Farrell being eyed for the lead role as late as March 2025, by the next month, the project was put on hold.
