James Gunn's DCU Is Inspired by 'Game of Thrones' but Not the MCU
The rebooted DC Universe is full-steam ahead as James Gunn promotes his upcoming film, Superman, which hits theaters this July. After the DCEU shuttered following several disastrous theatrical releases, a new era has arrived for the iconic property. Superman will be the first of many films coming out in the new cinematic universe, but fans shouldn't expect another half-hazard attempt at replicating the MCU's success. Another incredibly famous franchise serves as inspiration for the DCU.
